I have been really excited about our series on Prayer :: Connecting to God.  I moved my message calendar around because I sensed the Spirit leading us to really focus on prayer and it has been awesome.  Not that I expected any less, right?

One of my initial struggles with doing this series now is that this is the absolute ‘worst’ time for our people because so many of you guys flee the triple-digit heat and head elsewhere for the month.  This is always the sparsest time of the year for our worship gatherings.  Some of you are in Minnesota, Illinois, Montana, Colorado, Vermont, California, Idaho, Ohio, South Carolina… the list just goes on and on.  But I am confident this is the direction we are to go and God is at work.

We passed out the 30 Day Prayer Journals I put together on Sunday and I have already received some encouraging emails.

I received this email from one of our single moms:

[My son] and I have started on the prayer journal and what an amazing time together it is…. I am hoping that this will be the start of some sort of daily bible time that [he] and I can have together.  Thanks

And this from a woman who was invited by some friends who attend SFC:
