Bye-bye, Bill

So, you have probably heard that gabzillionaire Bill Gates is enjoying his first day of retirement today. Yup, it is the first time since he was 17 years old that he has not worked for Microsoft. Although it is my understanding he is still going to be ‘around’ as chairman of the board.
Check out this retirement spoof video that Bill Gates made… funny stuff.

But did you hear how he gets to spend his ‘retirement’? Some would think he might just buy himself a small country and become its king and enjoy the good life. (Truth is, I believe Bill has been enjoying the good life for quite awhile, although not as king of an official country, unless you consider Microsoft a kingdom as some do.)
No, Bill gets to spend his retirement making a real difference in the world as he oversees the activities of the world’s wealthiest charity, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. It all makes me think a bit: first, I know I don’t have to wait until I retire to make a difference (Bill has been doing it for awhile now… retirement just let’s him do it full-time) and second, I don’t need a gabzillion dollars to make a difference as every little bit helps.
Well, Bill… happy retirement.
